Your Perfect Package
For LPFM
After a number of years of low power experience, we have formed the following conclusions:
- It should be possible to achieve 5 to 7 miles of coverage from an LPFM system which radiates 100 watts and whose antenna is 100 feet above average terrain.
- The most effective signal that can be achieved in all directions is when 222 watts is fed into a single bay, circularly polarized antenna whose gain is 0.45 and whose elevation is 100 feet above average terrain.
- 125' of 1/2" foam line has an efficiency @ 100 mhz of 82.7 %. Thus, the transmitter power output should be 268 watts whn utilizing a single bay CP antenna to achieve 100 watts ERP.
- The Energy-Onix SST-300C contains an independent, high performance 30 watt exciter with a built-in stereo generator and limiter and a stand alone broadband 300 watt amplifier. Thus, the exciter can serve as a standby source in the event that the amplifier is inoperative. The transmitter is suppplied with a line surge protection system. We also recommend a polyphasor lightning protector.
- All equipments offered are of USA manufacture which assures the user of prompt and reliable "customer support".
- In order to meet the FCC requirements, LPFM stations require EAS equipment. We recommend the Gorman Redlick system. These are included in our "Perfect Package".
- The equipments recommended apply only to the transmitter and assumes that the studio and transmitter are co-located. If the studio and transmitter locations are within line of sight of each other, Energy-Onix can offer convetional one way microwave. If line of sight does not exist, but there does exist a broadband connection to the Internet at one or both ends, we can offer our Tele-Link system to provide duplex audio and remote control between both points.
Accordingly, we reommend for 100 Watt ERP, the following:
