Application:

The high power ECO series transmitters described in this brochure have been designed to meet the needs of broadcasters who need between 12KW and 30KW of transmitter power to achieve their targeted ERP
requirements. The ECO Series, Single Tubed Grounded Grid, FM transmitters offer excellent quality and the highest level of reliability at very affordable prices.

ECO Controller — Simple and Reliable — Field proven in some of the harshest environmental conditions the ECO controller's simple and straight forward design contains no electronic memory or computer chips. The controller is designed to give transmitter status at a glance. LEDs are used to indicate status of the transmitter operation including VSWR and Automatic Power Control.

Single Button Operation: One touch of the start switch, in either local or remote position, turns the transmitter on. Once filament warm-up occurs the transmitter will automatically activate, provided all interlocks are closed. The controller will automatically restart the transmitter when power is restored after a power outage.

Circuit Breaker Protection: Every major circuit in the ECO series is protected by circuit breakers. Independent circuit breakers for the Driver, blower, filament, and PA power supply are conveniently located on the Main circuit breaker panel along with the circuit breaker.

Remote Control: The ECO 15, 22, 25 & 30 are designed for both local and remote operation. Start, stop, VSWR and overload reset, and metering is available at the remote control point.

Main Features

2 KW Solid State Driver: The ECO series High Power Transmitters contain a 2KW solid state driver with independent power supply. This driver section can be placed on the air as an emergency back-up transmitter.

Single Long Life Triode Final Tube: The Hi MU Triode tube in Grounded Grid Configuration minimizes operational expense. Triode tubes have an average life of 4 years, cost less to replace and are far more robust than their tetrode counterparts that use fragile screen circuit technology. The result is continued cost savings with the ECO. We use the 3CX15,000A7 in the ECO 15, 22, 25, and 30.

Power Supplies: Regulated power supplies are used for the ECO controller. A filament voltage regulator is included in the filament supply. Full wave bridge rectified power supplies are used for the Driver and Plate supplies.

Exciter: All ECO high power transmitters are provided with the Energy-Onix SST-100 high performance
exciter.
